Endorsed by Dr. Yukio Hattori, President of Hattori Nutrition College, Tokyo, Japan, the renowned expert commentator of the Japan Culinary Series, "Iron Chef". Sugimoto's Dried Shiitake mushrooms are recommended for use in the college as well as for traditional "Osechi" dishes (おせち料理).
Wild forest-grown Shiitake Mushrooms (Donko) from the mountains of Miyazaki, Japan, harvested during Late Fall & Early Spring.
Like none other in the market. Sugimoto Donkos 冬菇 are thicker, with a chewier texture without the slippery feels, giving a "meaty" flavour too. Perfect for stews or claypot rice.
DONKO Shiitake mushrooms are gathered twice a year. Donko are mainly gathered from January to April during the lower temperatures of Spring. They are smaller and thicker compared to Koshin (香菇)
It is an experience like none other. Unless you have tried it, you will not be able to understand the yummy index.
